Presently, various agencies such as the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation ( MATRADE ), Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation ( SMIDEC) and Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), provide market development programmes to promote Malaysia’s Halal product and services as well as the Malaysian Halal Standard. The programmes,
- Facilitate the participation of Malaysian companies in selected international exhibitions and trade missions
- Assist SME’s in marketing their product to large hypermarkets and
- Provide business matching services between foreign buyers and Malaysian suppliers of Halal products
Specialised marketing missions and incoming trade missions are also organized under the programmes. In addition the Government supports efforts by the private sector in promoting the industry. Examples are:
The Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) and the World Halal Forum, an international platform which brings together relevant experts from the world for deliberation on Halal.
As our partner event, MIHAS 2008 will be hosted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).The 5th MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL HALAL SHOWCASE (MIHAS 2008) will be held from 7 - 11 May 2008 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur. This will be followed by the WHF exhibition on the 12 – 13 May 2008.
MIHAS is Malaysia’s largest food and beverage exhibition and the world’s largest international Halal trade fair, showcasing a variety of Halal products, from food and beverage, cosmetics and body care, herbals and pharmaceuticals to Islamic banking, financial services and investments. |
